Lachlan's Wish: "I wish for a gaming PC"

Lachlan, 19, Leukemia

For a while, Lachlan had been isolated and unable to connect with friends over Covid. He dreamed of owning a gaming computer to play games online with friends.

He is also a huge motor racing fan and loves being with his family. He is particularly close to his Dad, who is also a bit of a petrol head.

We had planned for Toyota to deliver the wish in a sports car. However, this turned into a full day at the racetrack with the Toyota Racing Team. Afterward, the Geeks on Wheels team also provided a gaming PC and helped him with setting up to connect and game with his friends!

Below is a letter from Lachlan

Thank you so very much for the amazing experience you have all given me over the past 14 months, I am so grateful for everything you guys have done and the way you have treated me. It has made getting through this situation a lot easier and has helped me keep my head held high while dealing with something I would never have seen coming.

The day out at Ruapuna Raceway, with Toyota Racing Team was an experience like no other and one I will remember for years to come. The Whole new PC setup from Geeks on Wheels is wicked, I have been using it every day and can’t get over how awesome it is.

Thank you so much Make-A-Wish, Toyota Racing Team & Geeks On Wheels.

Kind Regards

Lockie Baker

Research has found that children who receive a wish are less distressed, depressed, and anxious. Instead, they have hope for their future and a better recovery chance. Every week, children in our communities are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Every one of these children needs a wish to help them during challenging times.

Will you donate to a wish today to give a child like Lachlan hope for the future?
