Office and Wish Administrator- Full time 

Full-time (40 hours per week) Permanent role

We can assure you, it’s pretty awesome!  Make-A-Wish® New Zealand grants the wishes of eligible children with life-threatening medical conditions; in essence, we bring absolute joy to these special children with a touch of magic!

This new role of Office and Wish Administrator is the face and voice of Make-A-Wish® New Zealand.  You are the hub, the glue, the smile, the energy, and the juggler.  In essence, you can walk the tight-rope, do a double flip, and land perfectly with the smile still on your face, then onto the next thing!  There is no such thing as a typical day in our office, but essentially you will be:

«  Responsible for the provision of effective and efficient administration support

«  Management of reception, mail, correspondence and couriers

«  Wish file set up and administration

«  Volunteer administration and coordination 

«  Office supplies management

«  File management

«  General management of all staff/Board functions

Your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills will allow you to communicate with ease and confidence with a wide range of stakeholders from wish families, medical practitioners and specialists, to our amazing volunteers, and everyone else in-between.  Your ability to use your initiative and creativity to problem solve will be one of your biggest assets.  Friendly, courteous and professional, you are top of your game.  You relish juggling to meet timeframes and nothing is ever a problem.  To top it off you bring high levels of computer literacy particularly in MS Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Access, Publisher would be advantageous.

Make-A-Wish New Zealand is a volunteer driven organisation.  We rely on our nationwide team of over 100 volunteers in order to deliver our charitable mission.  Our volunteers are primarily wish granters, meaning they are the main point of contact for our amazing wish children and their families, from capturing their one true wish and working with our small office team, through to creating a magical wish experience, our volunteers are absolutely vital.  Volunteers also take part in events, help fundraise, and represent Make-A-Wish in their community.
