THE ULTIMATE ADVENTURE CHALLENGE
Make-A-Wish NZ has partnered with award-winning television production company Charity TV Global on an exciting television show based on travel, adventure and philanthropy.
Twelve people will undertake a life-changing adventure, filmed over the course of a week, culminating in an hour-long episode to be shown on TV2.
Introducing our Make-A-Wish NZ Participants:
Meet our team of fundraising ambassadors who are taking part in the Ultimate Adventure Challenge. Each has a goal to raise $10,000 for Make-A-Wish NZ and in return they will feature in the Charity TV Global series.
Jenny recently left the New Zealand Police after almost 10 years of service to pursue a new career in real estate in Takanini. She has been a regular volunteer and charity worker, particularly with youth. Wanting to find other ways to help people in need, Jenny, who is 33, recently became a Make-A-Wish volunteer. She has always enjoyed extreme activities and sees the Ultimate Adventure Challenge as a great opportunity to help raise much-needed funds so more children’s wishes to be granted.
Hilda, 26 from Auckland, works in hospitality and loves travelling. She is taking part along with her partner Lewis Hamlin.
Lewis, 31, originally from Christchurch now lives in Auckland. He loves being active, wears his heart on his sleeve, and will happily dress up for the cause. He works in sales and finance, and is Hilda’s partner.
Sheridan, 26, originally from the Waikato now lives in Auckland with her husband and fellow participant Freeman, has spent the past year studying wine. She works at Sky City, and together with Freeman set up a social media agency Constellation Media.
Freeman, 26, from Auckland is an energetic goal setter. He is director of his own marketing company, he hails from a large family and recently married fellow participant Sheridan.
Daniel, 40, was born in Melbourne and now lives in Auckland with his wife and three children. Daniel’s son Lachlan was granted a wish through Make-A-Wish NZ and this is his way of giving back. Read more about Lachlan's wish here
Paul, 47, from Auckland has joined the Ultimate Adventure Challenge team as he wants to “give back” to Make-A-Wish as his son James received a wish in 2012. Then aged five, James wanted an iPad as his treatment meant long bouts in quarantine. Paul has been fundraising by putting his handyman skills to good use, and has received support from his motorbike buddies.
A father of two, Dean, 47, from Auckland is a keen musician (he plays in a blues band). His day job is as a self-employed fabricator where he creates large-scale artistic industrial furniture. This won't be Dean’s first TV appearance, he recently starred in a commercial where he was seen excitedly throwing himself down a long kitchen table.
