Seven-year-old Kruden is recovering from Leukaemia. He recently finished his course of treatment and to celebrate we helped his family throw an unveiling party, to unveil his brand new backyard playground / playhouse!
Kruden’s wish was for an adventure playhouse, and Make-A-Wish have been working with Playzone who designed and installed the structure. It includes a set of monkey bars, rock climbing wall, a beam with swings and a rope ladder, fireman's pole and a flying fox. It is a truly spectacular playhouse!
The playground was installed over a three day period. Kruden was so surprised, with his mum Haley saying that he stood in front of his playground holding his hand over his mouth for almost five minutes!
It couldn’t of been better timing, with Kruden finishing his cancer treatment Thursday the week before. City Cake Company provided us the cake, and Kruden’s mum ordered her own cake topper which said “kicked cancer's butt.”
The unveiling happened on a lovely sunny June morning, with volunteers Raewyn and Richard helping to set up balloons and to take photos. Batman was the star of the show, showing off his Batmobile, making Kruden his own personal sign for the playground and also helping Kruden cut the grand opening ribbon.
We left Kruden and his family and friends to enjoy themselves and continue the party well into the afternoon.
