Finance and Administration Manager - Full Time; Permanent Position

An exciting new role of Finance & Administration Manager has recently been developed to take full responsibility for all aspects of our finance and administration requirements.  This is a sole-charge accounting position that involves a lot of hands on work; there’s no escaping data entry, payroll processing or bank reconciliations, and at the same time you must be able to stand back and make a meaningful contribution to the strategic direction of organisation.  There is no such thing as a typical day in our office, but some of the key responsibilities are:

  • End to end processing and maintenance of all aspects of the ledger
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and reconciliations
  • Financial and accountability reporting
  • Responsible for the annual budget and reforecasting process
  • Processing fortnightly payroll and being the key contact for any employment related queries
  • Ensure the IT requirements of the organisation are maintained to a high standard
  • Ensure office policies, standards, systems and procedures are delivered and maintained to a high standard

 

The successful candidate will be CA qualified (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years commercial experience or a Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Business Administration and a minimum of 7 years commercial experience.  You will be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task, have a proven experience in budgeting and forecasting, excellent organisation skills and be a successful communicator at all levels.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation.  Volunteers are what makes achieving our mission of granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy, possible.
We will soon be looking for volunteers to join the Make-A-Wish® New Zealand family in areas around the country!


As a volunteer you will need to be equipped with fantastic communication skill, patience, inituition, understanding, and compassion.  You need to be experienced in dealing with diverse families and situations, able to follow instructions, and committed to teamwork.  You are highly personable, will have absolute passion for our cause, and the creative thinking to bring magic to each and every child’s special wish.


Our volunteers primary focus is wish granting, however we are always on the lookout for volunteers to be involved in events and fundraising activities within their local communities.  As a Make-A-Wish® New Zealand volunteer you will be comfortable using your local networks and connections to help bring magical wishes to life.


As a volunteer you need to be able to commit to approximately 5-10 hours per month,  be willing to drive your own vehicle to visit wish families in your region and for wish deliveries.
